Peerix Ltd ("the Company", "We", "Us" or "Our") operates the FXRate mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how We collect, use, and protect your information when you use Our App.
Information We Collect
The App is designed to minimise data collection. We do not require user accounts or registration. The information We may collect includes:
- Exchange rate queries: Currency pairs and amounts you convert are processed locally on your device. These are not transmitted to Our servers.
- Device information: Basic device information (device model, operating system version, language) may be collected by third-party services integrated into the App for the purpose of delivering advertisements.
- Advertising identifier (IDFA): On iOS, We request your permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework before accessing your device's advertising identifier. This identifier may be used by Our advertising partners to deliver personalised advertisements. You may decline this request, and ads will still be shown but may be less relevant.
Third-Party Services
The App integrates the following third-party services:
- Google AdMob: We use Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect device information and, if you have granted permission, your advertising identifier to serve personalised ads. Google's privacy policy applies to data collected by AdMob: https://policies.google.com/privacy
- Apple StoreKit: If you purchase a subscription to remove ads, the transaction is handled entirely by Apple through StoreKit. We do not receive or store your payment information. Apple's privacy policy governs these transactions: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
App Tracking Transparency
On iOS 14.5 and later, the App will request your permission before accessing your device's advertising identifier (IDFA). If you choose to allow tracking, your IDFA may be shared with Our advertising partners to deliver personalised ads. If you deny permission, you will still see ads, but they will not be personalised based on your activity across other apps and websites. You can change your preference at any time in your device's Settings under Privacy & Security > Tracking.
Data Retention
We do not store personal data on Our servers. Exchange rate data cached on your device is retained locally and can be cleared by deleting the App. Any data collected by third-party services is subject to their respective retention policies.
Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information processed by the App. All network requests for exchange rate data are made over HTTPS. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the right to access, rectify, or delete your personal data, as well as the right to restrict or object to processing. Since We do not collect or store personal data on Our servers, these rights primarily apply to data held by Our third-party partners. You can exercise your rights regarding Google's data collection through Google's privacy tools, and regarding Apple through your Apple ID account settings.
Your Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected about you, request deletion of your personal information, and opt out of the sale of your personal information. We do not sell personal information. To opt out of personalised advertising, you may deny the App Tracking Transparency prompt or adjust your device settings.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
